About the role

The Formulation Technical Associate is responsible for the co-ordination of day-to-day operations scheduled in the R&D Formulation Development Laboratory ensuring optimization of the productivity and supporting HTSG, Category and R&D Ops teams to meet project deadlines with any Formulation Development Laboratory activities. This role will maximise the efficiency and usage of the Formulation Development Laboratory and deliver demonstrable continuous improvement, evolving and disseminating best practice throughout the Formulation Development Laboratory.

Your responsibilities

- To be an active member of the HTSG Formulation Team. Working with external partners & vendors to co-ordinate & schedule equipment maintenance & calibrations in the Formulation Development Laboratory.

- Maintain the equipment booking form to optimize productivity and help HTSG, Category and R&D Ops teams to meet project deadlines & scale up activities.

- Participate in the qualification, validation, and commissioning activities in collaboration with internal and external partners for new pieces of laboratory equipment.

- Maintain the Regulatory, cGMP compliance and audit readiness including activities such as handling of Change Controls, CAPA’s and Deviations related to process equipment and laboratory activities.

- Ensure correct stock levels are maintained in the Formulation Development Laboratory.

- Ensure WERA & TRA for all equipment are within date & co-ordinate between the H&S Reps & H&S Team to facilitate approvals.

- Continue to positively evolve the R&D Partnership with HTSG, Health Category and Operations Teams.

- Escalate and manage risks and issues as appropriate.

The experience we're looking for

- Degree in a relevant scientific (typically chemistry, life-sciences, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, engineering) or business discipline.

- Demonstrable track record of relevant laboratory experience and competence within a Healthcare environment.

- Familiar with implementation of new systems/equipment/processes within a laboratory environment.

- Agile and capable to deal with a wide range of stakeholders and requirements.

- Proactive, Resilient and Motivated

- Strong innovation and problem-solving skills are key along with tenacity and the ability to influence and demonstrate strong teamwork and commitment.

- Good motivational and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and networking skills.

- Self-disciplined; good organisational capabilities.

- Experience in leading projects

- A practical scientific person, who enjoys being both hands on and theoretical development of products and processes.
