About the role

The postholders will have a pivotal role within the Natsal team, with responsibility for data analysis and dissemination aspects of Natsal. The Natsal-4 dataset will be large, with > variables and derived variables. The postholder will work closely with Dr Elise Paul, the Data Analysis Lead to:

carry out analyses of the Natsal-4 quantitative data; produce tables of results; assist with the interpretation of the results; assist with the writing of outputs including papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals; keep an accurate and clear record of statistical programmes used for analyses ( Stata ‘do’ files); prepare and present the results at conferences and for other dissemination activities.

These posts are available full time ( hours per week) but Part-time and Job-share applications are also considered. Posts are available part-time for a minimum of 26 hours per week. Please specify your preference in your application.

These posts are based at the Mortimer Market Centre, London, WC1E 6JB with opportunities for hybrid working in line with UCL Policy and project requirements.

These posts are available from October for 16 months in the first instance.

Appointment will be made at Grade 6B unless the applicant has been awarded a PhD or has equivalent substantial working experience in epidemiology, statistics, public health, social sciences or a related discipline when appointment will be made at Grade 7.

Salary range:
Grade 6B: £37, to £39, per annum (including London Allowance)

Grade 7: £42, to £50, per annum (including London Allowance)

About you

The candidates must have excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills and demonstrate a strong teamwork ethic, while also being able to work on their own initiative.

The ideal candidates will be organised, with meticulous attention to detail and record keeping, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to organise their own workload and supervise the work of others. They will have a PhD (or master’s degree, in the case of Grade 6B) in epidemiology/a related discipline, or equivalent substantial experience, and experience of multi-disciplinary team working. They will have excellent data management and analysis skills, and experience of conducting data analyses using Stata or other software packages. They will also have a demonstrated interest in sexual health and a proven track record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
