This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic researcher to join the Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health (BSH) within UCL’s Institute of Epidemiology & Health Health.

The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes. Our research and teaching reflect our interdisciplinary approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on a broad range of public health issues, such as alcohol and tobacco use, heart disease, cancer, and obesity.Further information can be found at:

Specifically, the postholder will be working within Dr Daisy Fancourt’s Social Biobehavioural Research Group (), which focuses on the health impact of social factors on health.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated quantitative researcher to a three-year fellowship co-funded with the World Health Organisation (WHO) Jameel Arts and Health Lab (JAHL) to explore the global impact of arts engagement on health outcomes. The postholder will be responsible for identifying, harmonising and analysing data from relevant cohort studies using cutting edge statistical techniques of causal inference.

Appointment Details:

  • The post is offered at 1.0 FTE and is available as a fixed-term role from 1st July 2024 for 36 months. Part-time positions and job shares will be considered

About you

The successful candidate should have a PhD in epidemiology, quantitative social science, statistics or other relevant discipline, postdoctoral experience conducting high quality academic research, a track record of high-quality original research using longitudinal datasets, leading to peer-reviewed publications, and knowledge of the evidence base on social, cultural and/or community engagement and health outcomes.
