Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board's Corporate Affairs Directorate. This newly created role will work as part of a wider team of professionals who are responsible for the ICBs customer information and complaints functions. maintaining the highest levels of customer service within the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and its five Places.

The postholder will be responsible for overseeing and developing the ICBs Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Subject Access Requests (SARs) processes.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role will be:

To oversee the coordination, preparation, and formulation of responses to requests received under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and the Data Protection Act (subject access requests (SAR)).

To provide specialist advice, guidance, and support on the relevant legislation.

To coordinate/manage the ICBs response to enquiries from the Information Commissioners Office.

To manage and maintain the Freedom of Information Disclosure Log.

To manage and maintain the ICBs Publication Scheme.

To develop and work closely with a network of FOI champions across the ICB.

To develop and maintain the ICBs policies, procedures and practices relating to FOI, EIR and SAR service areas; ensuring that these meet legislative requirements and national policy.

To line manage the FOI Officer to ensure that a strong ethos of continuous improvement and customer focus within the team is built and maintained.

To work closely with other managers across the Customer Information and Complaints Team to ensure joined up working and resilience across the function.

To ensure the Head of Customer Information and Complaints is fully briefed in respect of FOIs/SARs, recognising, and escalating serious issues.
