We are pleased toinvite an application for the appointment of a Consultant Neurophysiologistwithin the department of Neurosciences at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

The Mid-YorkshireNeuroscience Department provides a sub-regional Acute & Out-patientNeurology Service to parts of West, North and South Yorkshire. Mid YorkshireHospitals NHS Trust comprises of three large district general hospitals:Pinderfields Hospital, Pontefract General Infirmary and Dewsbury DistrictHospital

The post willbe based at Pinderfields Hospital where the acute Neuroscience facilities forthe Mid Yorkshire region are located. The department of Neurophysiology issituated within a purpose built unit in the hospital.

You will join astrong Neuroscience presence within the trust comprising a team of 6 ConsultantNeurologists, 8 Consultant Stroke Physicians, 2 Consultants in Spinal Injuriesand 1 Consultant in Neurological Rehabilitation.

Thedepartment has close links with Leeds and a weekly regional neurosciencemeeting in Leeds will form part of any successful applicants job plan.

This post isoffered on a full time (10 PA) basis although less than full time applicationswill be considered.

Main duties of the job

Duties willbe based primarily on our Wakefield (Pinderfields) site although all ourmedical staff are involved in delivering care to patients on all our threesites. The main duties of the post will include:

The indicativetimetable, below, is based on 10PAs (whole time equivalent) and will contain amixture of DCC clinical and administrative duties, SPA and other activities in line with prevailing Terms and Conditions of Service. An indicative workloadwould be 4-5 patients seen in each EMG clinic, depending on complexity; 1patient assessed in a PA inpatient EMG session; 10-15 EEGs in 1 PAreporting session, depending on complexity; 2-3 cases in a prolonged Video/EEGreporting session (Videotelemetry).

Essential

Sufficient experience at Senior level to be placed on the Specialist Register Computer literate Wide experience in neurophysiology, neurology and neurosciences

Desirable

Clinical experience of neuromuscular diseases / epilepsy Paediatric experience Experience of research Experience of teaching

GMC Registration

Essential

Please state full GMC number Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT GMC Full Registration with licence to practise Work permit if applicable
