A specialist interest that complements those within the department will be encouraged. Our usual clinic template is 4 hours, with 40 and 20 minutes allocated for new and follow-up patients, respectively (e.g., 2 new and 8 follow-up). Clinics are held on all 3 of our Hospital sites, consultants will usually be on a site for the whole day, if travel between sites is required, travel time will be added to your job plan. Supervision of junior medical staff and the specialist nursing team.

Acute rheumatology covers ward referrals, e-consultations, and GP referral triage on a weekly schedule during normal working hours. There are no out-of-hours calls. Hot week cover for acute Rheumatology 08:00 18:00 hrs., Monday to Friday We are excited to include in this post some GIM training time for those clinicians who are dual accredited in rheumatology and GIM. Within the job plan for this position are up to 1.5 PA of DCC to General Internal Medicine (GIM), which is to enable the successful applicant to be part of the team delivering inpatient care to general medical inpatients.

The new department of GIM, within the Specialty and Integrated Medicine Clinical Service Unit, will be staffed by 15 dual-accredited physicians from Group 1 specialties. These consultants will work a consultant of the week model of care on a one-in-eight rota, providing a daily consultant ward round (4-hour duration). The ward will have 2 consultants each week doing a daily ward round, the consultants will change every week. Ward is based on one site.
