Job summary

The post holder will provide an efficient and sympathetic 'first point of contact' to patients, relatives and staff who attend an outpatient appointment, ensuring that processes are followed in relation to booking in, checking out and cashing up across all NBT Outpatient locations including Cossham Hospital.

The post holder will provide a responsive service to all patients making contact with the Outpatient department ensuring that their queries are dealt with sympathetically and that processes are adhered to and appointments are booked in accordance to The Patient Access Policy.

Main duties of the job

The ideal candidate would be flexible, confident and have great communication skills. They should be able to use / be willing to train to use the hospital's patient administration systems.

Good customer service skills are a must, as well as being empathetic towards the patients and visitors in the hospital.

We are looking for someone with drive and enthusiasm to join our friendly and supportive team.

The successful candidate will join a supportive and encouraging leadership style with focus to assist our team across Centralised Outpatients to achieve North Bristol Trust targets and provide exceptional healthcare, personally delivered.

You should be willing to undertake further personal development as needed to fulfil the role to your full potential.

Centralised Outpatient Services at North Bristol NHS Trust support the clinical specialties and divisions to deliver their outpatient activity. There is something to suit everyone, with our patient facing Reception Team, our telephone liaison Patient Contact Centre and our administrative Referral Team. The department also has scope for future development for candidates who excel in their roles.
