Job Title: Behaviour Mentor for Year 4 Pupil

Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:40 – 15:40

Pay: Minimum £12.90 per hour

Start: November 2024

**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to support a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and behavioural challenges. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience to create a positive learning environment, employing strategies that promote self-regulation and social-emotional development.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Build a trusting and supportive relationship with the pupil.

- Implement personalized behaviour management strategies in line with the pupil's Individual Education Plan (IEP).

- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to create a consistent approach to behaviour management.

- Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.

- Facilitate positive social interactions and encourage participation in class activities.

- Provide one-on-one support during lessons and during unstructured times, such as recess.

- Support the pupil in developing coping mechanisms and self-regulation skills.

**Qualifications:**

- Experience working with children, particularly those with ADHD or other behavioural challenges.

- To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.

- Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.

- Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
