Lead and Develop Technical Trades Teams

The Isle of Wight College is seeking an experienced and skilled individual to take on the role of Director of Technical Trades. This role will involve leading and developing our Technical Trades teams to ensure they are delivering high-quality education and training.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching, learning, and assessment, with experience in providing excellent customer service and delivery. They should possess a Level 3 qualification relevant to their teaching expertise and have a leadership/management qualification.

  • You will be responsible for undertaking teaching, learning, and assessment activities, ensuring high-quality provision in response to learners' needs.
  • Promote high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment within the area.
About the Role

The ideal candidate will have:

  1. A strong background in teaching, learning, and assessment, with experience in providing excellent customer service and delivery.
  2. Possess mentoring and coaching skills, presentation skills, and the ability to manage challenging behaviour while leading, motivating, and developing staff to build effective teams.
  3. Experience in managing change, data, and QA processes, and curriculum planning and timetabling.
  4. Current knowledge and understanding of the FE environment, including funding and government policy, and the ability to demonstrate an employer focus in curriculum design and development.

Salary Information

Estimated salary: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on experience.
