About the role

Balfour Beatty are looking for a Electrical Technician to join our team based at Penglais Farm student accommodation project based at Aberystwyth University.

Balfour Beatty has designed, constructed and now operate various hard and soft services across the 1,000 bed student accommodation campus.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a small maintenances team undertaking reactive and maintenance tasks throughout the campus. The post holder will have specific responsibility for all electrical work carried out on site.

What you'll be doing

As an Electrical Technician , you will have the following accountabilities:

Be appointed to the position Authorised Person (LV) in accordance with the Balfour Beatty Electrical Safety Procedure The issue and cancellation of electrical safety documents to safely administer the Electrical Safe Systems of Work (ESSW) identified for the project, as detailed in Section 8 and Section 9 of the Balfour Beatty Electrical Safety Procedure. The control, energisation, isolation and co-ordination of all works on the LV Electrical Networks under Balfour Beattys Duty Holder responsibilities on the project including the photo-voltaic installation. To co-ordinate and control Authorised and Competent Persons in matters affecting the ESSW. Ensure all electrical statututory works are organised, completed safely and recorded in line with contractual and statutory obligations Support the Facilities Manager in producing electrical scope of works for planned maintenance, projects, lifecycle works and variations Undertake a variety of planned maintenance tasks ensuring effective records are captured and electronically filed Support the Facilities Manager as required in particular in the allocation of reactive tasks using the mobile App Carry out daily and weekly reactive maintenance tasks using the mobile App and in line with contract timescales Have responsibility for ordering materials, spares and consumables Assist in the safe storage and availability of daily helpdesk evidence information Maintain electrical stock and stores levels Carry out building inspections and collate photographic damage information Regular testing and inspection of building operating systems. Participate in on-call rota outside of core shift hours.

You will have the following:

The ability to demonstrate a "Can Do" attitude to all aspects of the role. Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or recognised electrical trade skill training or other relevant maintenance approved training. Be able to demonstrate an electrical career path Have experience of working in an maintenance environment
