Job summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and support a team of Major Account and Key Account Managers in proactively selling Logistics UK's services portfolio. The role requires managing a field based team to achieve revenue and targets, accompanying planned field based visits to ensure all team members meet their role requirements, and continuously developing the team’s skill set to maximise value for both the organisation and its members. Additionally, the successful candidate will focus on improving the quality of account data to align with Logistics UK’s strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will be based within commutable distance to the North West of England.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the accomplishment of sales targets for the new Logistics UK services contract in your designated region within the year.
  • Empower each team member to not only meet but surpass business targets and goals.
  • Forge strong connections with colleagues across the regional portfolio to enhance collaboration and deepen insights into the value and services offered by Logistics UK.
  • Offer hands-on support and coaching to all team members, ensuring a successful strategy for achieving and exceeding revenue and margin goals.
  • Collaborate with each team member to outline personal development objectives, crafting tailored development and action plans to help them succeed in these areas.
  • Organise quarterly performance reviews for every account manager, assessing all objectives and KPIs, and ensure these reviews are documented in the Logistics UK HR system.
  • Provide updates on activities to the General Manager, ensuring alignment with company reporting and tracking progress on all targets.
  • Partner with the Head of Contract Management and regional Contract Management team members to maximise value for our members and boost revenue for Logistics UK.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance the benefits of secured contracts for both the customer and Logistics UK, aiming for the annual targets set.
  • Pass along any leads for additional services that emerge from discussions to the relevant Account Manager, Contract Manager, or business unit.
  • Cultivate relationships across various functions with key staff and departments within Logistics UK.
  • Represent Logistics UK at public events, including Trade Shows, Seminars, and Council Events.

Requirements

  • This post will require a background in leading and managing field based teams.
  • Candidates will have strong organisation and relationship building skills, will be self starters, able to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally and be computer literate.
  • Experience in a consultative direct sales role and successful pipeline management to deliver targets will be required.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring or people development would be advantageous to support delivery of role.
  • Demonstrated previous successful approach to sales targets and goals required.
