STEPS OUTREACH WORKER SEND Outreach Services

WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN GREENWICH?

The SEND Outreach Services consist of four established and highly regarded teams that cover early years, autistic spectrum disorder, primary and secondary school support and sensory impairment.

At STEPS we support and promote the inclusion of pupils with special educational needs in mainstream settings and we are looking for an experienced individual to join our hardworking and supportive team.

You will be supporting staff in school settings to support children with learning needs, with a focus on the development of literacy and maths skills. Therefore, you will require a good understanding and experience of supporting learners within mainstream and/or specialist provisions. You will work alongside teachers and other specialist staff in the STEPS team and the wider SEND Outreach Services.

The post holder would be responsible for a caseload of children with special educational needs across a range of settings through direct work, consultation and collaborative planning with the child’s parents/carers, school staff and other professionals. This will require excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. For further information about the team and what we offer, please visit our Local Offer page:

This post also requires working alongside team members to deliver SEN training through the Special Needs training programme.

You would be travelling across the Borough but based in Eltham and it would be an advantage to be a car user.

Please provide a full employment history, together with a satisfactory written explanation of any gaps in employment. Unless otherwise stated, a Basic DBS check will be undertaken as part of the pre-employment checks for successful candidates.
