Job responsibilities

Develop skills in chosen specialist area CRM +/- Electrophysiology or Echo and work towards accreditation in this area.

Undertakea Specialised Physiologists role in the invasive PCI service based in theCardiac Catheter lab. Perform unsupervised monitoring of cardiac haemodynamic,invasive intra-cardiac pressures on clinically high-risk Cardiac patients.Alerting Physician immediately of any changes in parameters. Includingpreparation and management of balloon pump equipment for insertion ofintra-aortic balloon.

Performas lead Physiologist in Cardiac Physiologist led Exercise Tolerance Tests.(ETTs) Without supervision, analyse and report the results of the procedure,in accordance with national and departmental protocols and procedures.

ProvidePhysiologist support during medically supervised ETTs.

Prepare,hook up, remove, download, analyse the recordings, providing written reports on24 hr Ambulatory ECG recorders, Blood Pressure recorders and Cardiac Eventrecorders, according to the departmental procedures and protocols.

PerformElectrocardiograms on all categories of patients within the trust. Interpretthe results and inform the relevant Physician of any adverse abnormalities, asper the departmental protocol and procedure.

Responsiblefor setting up equipment, preparing and carrying out Tilt table testing formedically and Physiologist supervised investigations.

Significant relevant previous experience as a Cardiac Physiologist. Previous experience across a broad range of Cardiology investigations

Previous experience in Echocardiography, Complex PCI, CRM.

BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent Must be prepared to attend training courses appropriate to post

Desirable

BSE accreditation (working towards) BHRS / EHRA / IBHRE Accreditation (working towards) SCST (parts 1 & 2) or equivalent Current ILS certification. Voluntary Registration for RCCP
