Therole of a Business Development Manager within Langton Howarth is towin new client accounts and achieve PSL status with accountscompanywide/internationally. It will be heavily telephone anddatabase driven and will consist of identifying newcompanies/prospective accounts in the clinical diagnosticslaboratory supplies cell & gene therapy CDMOpharmaceutical and biotech verticals and resourcing vacancies andPSL opportunities to secure repeat long term business and revenuefrom these client accounts internationally. This will includeintensive research into the scientific and clinical markets weserve market mapping companies and sites within the industrygenerating vacancy leads from new clients as well as existingaccounts and booking in telephone appointments/face to facemeetings with hiring managers/decision makers to secure PSL statusand then it is for our team of delivery consultants to fill theirjobvacancies.

Tasks

Typicallyyou will be conducting these types of duties everyday:

  • Sourcevacancies/opportunities to recruit for new companies using theinternet/social media such as LinkedIn/the CRM system andtelephone.
  • Approach existing client contacts aswell as new decision makers in other countries/functions and newprospective customers directly to secure their recruitingrequirements over the telephone across the UK Europe and NorthAmerica
  • Network with existing accounts/industry contacts to source new vacancies and secure telephoneappointments for consultants to take their specific jobrequirements to include engineering/IT sales marketing technicalsupport finance customer service from trainee to board levelappointments
  • Find vacancy leads to convert intomoney making opportunities through social media/competitorawareness and networking activities
  • Book intelephone appointments with the Director/Clients to convert intolive jobs for our recruitment team tofill.
  • Updating & maintaining thedatabase with client details
  • Whilst the role istelephone/office based out of our fabulous Harrogate office onHornbeam Park there will be the opportunity to attendindustry/trade conferences in the UK and overseas as well as toattend client meetings to secure new business. We want someone tobe in the face of the customer and truly build relationships andwin preferred supplier status with key corporate accounts. A fullvalid UK driving license and passport is required alongside awillingness to travel and pitch to C and D suite level decisionmakers to win new accounts/PSLstatus.
Requirements

Yoursales personality should be a hunter/closer with excellentcommunication/ negotiation skills and a confident demeanour toclose deals over the telephone.

You will be adeptat using the internet and search engines and websites. You willalso have a real passion for generating and winning newbusiness/accounts within a recruitment company. Excellent commandof the English language both written and verbal is necessary. Asparkling personality with a real flair for collaborating withpeople and strong people skills plus the right attitude isessential to join our motivated high energy and positive team.Degree educated in a Life Science related discipline such asMolecular/Cellular Biology Biochemistry Biomedical ScienceChemistry Engineering or HND Level in Life Science or equivalentwould be a distinct advantage but not essential. However we recruitindividuals with the extra factor with 2 years work experience in atargeted B2B recruitment business.
