Woking, United Kingdom RSC Full time

Welcome to KFC.

Take one man with a big idea, add 11 herbs and spices, grit, ambition, and buckets of heart – you’ve got KFC.

Since 1939, we’ve been bringing finger lickin’ good chicken to the world, and today we’re proud to be in over 1000 communities across the UK & Ireland. But without our people, none of it would be possible. Just like our recipe, they’re all original.

Join us. Bring it. And together, we can be part of something truly extraordinary.

Bringing it to the role.

The Construction Team are looking for an Associate Construction Project Manager to be responsible for project managing new restaurants and extending/refurbishing existing sites for KFC equity and to partner & guide third party franchise businesses. The role also has potential for growth with major maintenance, ad hoc & roll-out projects on the equity estate as they arise.

You will work as part of the innovative Design and Construction team, where we shape what our actual restaurants look and feel like. The designs we produce in the UK are exported around the world and we are always innovating and looking for new creative design and construction ideas. We meet quarterly to brainstorm and reconnect. There is always something new and exciting happening in the team through innovation concepts, new décor rollouts or sustainability/Net 0 development etc.

You will receive regular 1-2-1 support and will have the room to grow and shape your role in a way that suits you.

What you’ll do

  • To work closely with the Acquisition Team and third-party consultants to develop and build new stores.
  • Provide Cost reporting, forecasting and contract budget reports
  • Ensure accurate and effective cost control is maintained.
  • Manage model cost documents updating on a live basis
  • Deliver project co-ordination services and maintain brand standards as per scope of works for the franchise community.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the refurbishment programme for the equity Estate.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports.
  • Measure and report on performance of all contractors and consultants.
  • Appoint, liaise and manage external consultants and contractors to complete the programme.
  • To take and develop the brief, obtain tenders, manage the works on site to budget and a high standard to ensure the solutions are achieved.
  • Prepare budgets, obtain approvals, manage and control costs.
  • To implement design, equipment layouts and brand standards.
  • Work with the Franchisees to ensure they adhere to brand standards and the Global Franchise Partnership – combine agreement for the new build and refurbishment programme.
  • Ensure all necessary consents are obtained for works, including planning, Building Control, Landlords, etc.

What we’d love from you

About You

  • Ideally you will be based in Northern England – although not critical. You must have the ability to work across the UK & Ireland.
  • A current clean driving license, prepared & flexible to travel in the UK and Ireland & spend time away overnight during the week
  • Problem solving and project management skills with a decision-making ability and commercial acumen
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with people of various disciplines at all levels within an organisation. Core working relationships to include Acquisition Managers, Design team, Restaurant Excellence & the KFC Franchise Community
  • A strong and proven drive for results and working to exceptionally high standards
  • Happy working in a strong team environment yet at times comfortable working fairly autonomously & spending periods of time on the road
  • Enjoy working in a process oriented way yet still have the ability to see the bigger picture and think strategically
  • Motivated self-starter with flexible working attitude
  • An eye for the detail and pride in working for the brand.

Experience

  • A relevant professional qualification in Project Management or Building Surveying ie HNC/HND minimum, Degree, RICS, MCIOB, BSc. (or working towards)
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in a similar role.
  • Strong administration skills with specific focus for proficiency of Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Be Original.

At KFC, everyone gets a seat at our table. Since we landed in the UK in 1965, we’ve fed our people’s potential – to be their best selves, make a difference and have fun.

Because it’s not just what you do at KFC. It’s the way you do it. Unapologetically you, undeniably original.

You’ll work with colleagues who all bring their originality to the table: their energy, spirit and sizzle and make every day high flyin’ and high fryin’.

As a multi-billion-pound business with over 1000 restaurants, we take ambition seriously. You’ll be treated with respect and supported in everything you do as you roll up your sleeves and play your part in bringing finger lickin’ good chicken to our customers. And whatever your journey looks like, we’ll help you get there. From flexible working to the chance to earn qualifications, we got you. There are all kinds of opportunities at KFC.
