Wood Digital Consulting is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to contribute to our projects across the UK.

This position offers a hybrid working model, allowing flexibility in location while requiring travel to client sites and in-person collaboration with team members as necessary. The role will also involve hands-on work during the primary construction execution phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a background in Electrical and Instrumentation Controls with proven experience in site commissioning.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to safety by actively participating in Commissioning Permit to Work, Electrical Isolation, and Safety Work Manuals. This includes contributing to Job Safety Analyses and Risk Assessments, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and engaging in safety walks and toolbox meetings.
  • Be knowledgeable about construction and commissioning mechanical completion technologies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting design documents, including P&IDs, PFDs, and mechanical datasheets.
  • Deliver documentation that meets technical standards and deadlines.
  • Manage and oversee the operations of work sites effectively.
  • Bring experience from the Oil and Gas sector.
  • Have expertise in at least one of the following areas: determining pass/fail criteria for UPS testing, generators, and switchgear, as well as commissioning and startup of compressors and turbines.
  • Experience with Brownfield upgrades and replacement instrumentation and control projects is essential.
  • Familiarity with Switch Rooms, Switchboards, Distribution Boards, and associated systems is required.
  • Experience in Compressor Station and metering operations is a plus.
  • Possess a solid understanding of substations, power systems, and their protective systems, including overcurrent and unit protection, as well as harmonics.
  • Have working knowledge of one or more of the following systems: Emerson, Siemens PCS7, Swinton, Omni, FlowX, EXI, Honeywell (DCS/Meter suite), PLCs, and SCADA Systems.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Contribute positively to an integrated team environment, fostering trust and respect among colleagues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Applicants must be able to pass the HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.
