Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Inpatient Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Bullingdon, a category B Prison located in Arncott.

HMP Bullingdon is a prison that holds inmates that need moderate supervision and those that are transitioning back into the community. This is a male prison that has a capacity for 1,114 inmates.

Hours

Monday - Friday (mainly days and occasional weekends)

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £54,600per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As an Inpatient Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

Be innovative, bringing fresh ideas and solutions to the challenges of providing healthcare in a prison; you will see patients at beginning and end of their time in prisons, both are times of transition in the community and require a coordinated approach to continuity of care with other services. The role will involve working closely with external stakeholders to develop pathways that prevent patients having to attend outside hospital including but not exclusively end of life care and acute care. Youll assist with the development of patients medical plans of care, line manage a team of healthcare practitioners ensuring that they are supported and appraised. Have the ability to function autonomously and within your sphere of competency, working within a team of healthcare practitioners you must be able to prioritise your own workload, caseload and be able to demonstrate the ability to problem solve.

Registered nurse RGN RMN or Paramedic Current professional qualification (NMC or HCPC) Evidence of Continued Professional Development Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working A non-judgmental and compassionate approach Excellent communication skills Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards Good IT skills and IT literacy
