The Role

The Café Assistant will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable café experience for our guests. This position involves a combination of customer service, order processing, and general support for the food and beverage operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities include:

  • Greet and welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary requests are captured
  • Preparation of hot and cold drinks including barista coffees.
  • Delivering food and drinks to customers and clearing tables.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of both guests and colleagues.
  • Process guest payments accurately and efficiently, handling cash and electronic transactions with integrity and precision.

The Person

  • Previous experience in a food and beverage role, preferably in a similar establishment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working schedule

  • Shifts, Flexible, including weekends and holidays.
  • Full time, Part time, Casual, to be discussed at interview.
