We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our established team at SPT Labtech. You'll have the opportunity to learn and support the manufacturing of our growing range of consumables used in our instruments, helping our customers across the Life Sciences sector make a difference in human health and push the boundaries of Science. Ideally, you'll come from an FMCG or similar high-volume production background, with a strong passion for continuous improvement in lean manufacturing.

You'll have the ability to work on complex products and collaborate flexibly across interdisciplinary teams. Your role will support the manufacture and supply of a wide range of consumables (e.g., nanolitre pipettes, syringes, cryo-EM grids), essential for the successful operation of our instruments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams to resolve product technical and production issues.
  • Be the first point of contact for consumables supply and manufacturing teams, resolving day-to-day queries or escalating issues as required.
  • Implement good manufacturing practices on precision products with a large degree of autonomy.
  • Utilise Continuous Improvement tools (Root Cause Counter Measure, Six Sigma, SPC) to contribute to CAPA and quality processes.
  • Engage with internal and external collaborators to evolve products from concept to manufacture.
  • Bring products from development to scalable manufacturing, from cradle-to-grave, with involvement from the product concept stage.
  • Apply change management skills to develop flexible, robust processes for ensuring product quality.
  • Take ownership of engineering changes to enhance quality, process capability, and cost efficiency.

Your Skill Set:

  • Ideally 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • An engineering or science degree (or equivalent) with relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering, preferably in FMCG or high-volume production.
  • Experience with process validation.
  • Experience with MRP systems, including changes via NPI or the ECN process, is desirable.
