The Role

The Assistant Financial Controller will be accountable for ensuring and representing the integrity of the reported financial results and statutory submissions. The role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial reporting and governance framework, and financial control culture in Carnival UK.

You will:

  • Lead a team of business and efficiency focussed managers, as well as finance experts, delivering advice & challenge to business, and ensuring the right financial control culture and practices are maintained throughout the organisation.
  • Lead the team to co-ordinate across Finance and the wider business to orchestrate the delivery of our financial reporting duties, by capturing, maintaining, and reporting reliable and timely financial information, supported by insight.
  • Lead the external auditor relationship and ensure alignment with financial reporting standards and group accounting policies.
  • Manage organisational risk & compliance by leading Carnival UK relationships with external regulators.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK05 and is offered on a full time, permanent basis, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, including up to two days from home.

  • Accounting Qualification
  • Be an effective communicator
  • Be able to effectively lead and inspire a large team within an accounting or finance environment
  • Technical accounting knowledge
