WHAT AWAITS YOU?

• As the Environment Specialist your primary responsibility will be to lead indirect teams to deliver the functional elements of Environmental Management (EM) for all manufacturing locations within the UK; advising the business at all levels to achieve the best balanced outcome for the business and the environment.
• You will influence BMW Group environmental strategies, procedures and guidelines with regional considerations, trends and legal requirements to achieve environmental targets.
• Your remit will include proactively anticipating internal and external changes (including legal requirements) that could affect the business and implementing countermeasures or negotiating change programmes with those Business Units affected.
• You will audit all aspects of the management system to ensure delivery of management system requirements in accordance with requirements and undertake 2nd party international audits as required by BMW Group.
• You will be accountable to legal entity Directors for provision of expert advice (defined by statute) regarding environmental protection (excluding product related environmental regulations).
• Proactively maintaining currency of knowledge regarding environmental, legal and other requirements and ensure that measures are implemented to establish compliance.


QUALIFICATIONS - INTERNAL

• A higher level of technical knowledge in the subject area, with recognised qualifications in relevant disciplines, or an ability to demonstrate significant relevant aptitude and experience is required.
• Significant relevant capability and experience in a related environmental field with knowledge of operations permitted under Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Proven ability operating a certified management system such as ISO14001.
• An excellent working knowledge of ISO management system standards.
• A good comprehension of modern safety practices with a thorough understanding of UK environmental legislation is beneficial.
• Sound comprehension of production and manufacturing operations is advantageous.
