- Job description- We have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead on our capital programme contributing to the condition, lifecycle and design of our assets on the River Thames. This is an annual programme of work to ensure the health of assets such as Locks, Weirs and other flood risk / navigation assets along with capturing future needs in order to secure funding.
The ideal person would have the right skills to lead a large and diverse programme of work delivered through many people and ensure this is delivered within time and money boundaries. You will be working with project leads, stakeholders, and technical support so you would enjoy communicating with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and communities. You will also contribute to the wider work of the Environment Agency.
Key responsibilities:

- Leads and assures our capital investment plan through delivery of high profile, reputational, political and / or technically complex projects with a wide scope.
- Provides leadership, expertise, and guidance to the organisation on delivery and management of our assets.
- Identifies and analyses risks around our assets and develops appropriate innovative solutions, such as defining the required outcomes or providing assurance.
- Acts as a lead on elements of our asset management strategy. Sets priorities and shapes the implementation of key work on this basis.
- Provides management of budgets relating to capital expenditure.
- Participation in an incident role
- The team- The Environment Agency manages some of the busiest recreational waterways in the country. Our River Thames operations include 45 lock and weir complexes, and our responsibilities include the wider river corridor and tributaries. Our aim is to provide a great service to our customers and communities.

- Outer London Weighting (approx. 2,000 if based in OLW zone)
