Role Summary

The Systematic Anti-Cancer Treatment Chemotherapy (SACT) Nurse provides clinical and managerial leadership to the Nursing and multi-professional team. This role includes acting as a clinical leader and an expert practitioner; liaising, guiding and advising the multidisciplinary team and external agencies in the provision of optimum patient care.

The Band 6 SACT Nurse role includes working in both the inpatient ward and day case unit providing specialist knowledge, support and clinical leadership for the Haematology team.

We also have an opportunity for a SACT Nurse to work alongside the Haematology stem cell team supporting patients having SACT treatment and stem cell treatment. 

The post holder will support working across the cancer services footprint through:

Outreach and driving the SACT van, Triage Out of Hours (OOH), Supporting the hour patients SACT line, Delivery of SACT in any designated location; Maintaining safety, staff support and administration of treatment plans Mentoring and supporting junior staff across Oncology and Haematology with SACT skills

Working Pattern: hours per week, long days, nights and some weekends

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 4-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 4. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 4 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 3-4 pay bandings ().
