Brook Street are looking for a Finance Administrator to join our Client on a temporary basis in Norwich. The position is for 6 months.

You’ll play a key role in managing supplier accounts, processing invoices, and ensuring financial compliance in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Location: Norwich

Job Type: Temporary for six months, 37.5 per week

Salary: Band 3 - £12.63 to £13.13 per hour dependant on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately match creditor invoices with purchase orders, ensuring timely entry into the Finance System.
  • Validate invoice signatories and ensure compliance with the Public Sector Payment Policy.
  • Process invoices related to direct debits, standing orders, and pay deductions.
  • Respond to and resolve supplier and internal stakeholder queries professionally and promptly.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of supplier statements.
  • Prepare documentation to enable new supplier setup on the Finance System.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Accounts Payable Supervisor.
  • Uphold the Trust’s Standing Financial Instructions through consistent financial operations.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with suppliers and colleagues.
  • Analytically ability to reconcile supplier statements and identify discrepancies.
  • Judgement and decision-making to resolve invoice queries and assess correct VAT coding.
  • Excellent time management to prioritise workload and meet financial deadlines.
  • Advanced IT skills, including proficiency with financial systems and spreadsheets.
  • A high degree of attention to detail for reconciling, data entry, and preparing reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous experience in accounts payable or a related finance role is essential.
  • AAT Intermediate/ NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience
  • GCSEs Maths and English at least grade 4 or equivalent
  • Familiarity with public sector financial regulations and practices is desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in financial databases and Microsoft Excel.
