CareerWave is seeking a qualified Career Adviser to work in one or more schools within a Multi Academy Trust in the Greater Manchester area- specifically Bolton, Salford and Tameside. This is a term-time only position and we welcome applicants willing to work any number of days per week throughout the full academic year (39 weeks). There are two further years guaranteed under contract (to August 2026) with an option for two more (to August 2028)- CareerWave has been the career guidance partner of this Trust for the previous 4 years (2020 to 2024).

Based on 5 days per week over 39 weeks the actual 'take home' salary is c. £24,000 to £29,000. Mileage is paid from your home to the schools at 25p per mile. All employees are enrolled on our CDI Bulk Membership scheme which means that CareerWave pay for CDI membership and inclusion on the Register of Career Development Professionals. Employees are auto-enrolled on the NEST pension scheme after 3 months probationary period. Staff benefit from Enhanced Sick Pay and an Enhanced Maternity/Paternity/Adoption package, as well as a flexible family friendly leave policy. There is also access to an Employer Assistance Programme to support health and well-being. A team ethic is fostered by fortnightly after-hours team meetings (paid overtime), open sharing of questions and ideas via email and an active staff WhatsApp group (No Directors allowed). CareerWave's most important resource is our people.

CareerWave not only delivers career guidance services in school, sixth forms and colleges- it is also an accredited assessment centre providing career guidance learning including accredited qualifications at Level 3, 4 and 6. This means we are able to train people up to the professional standard, but also means that our staff CPD is of the highest quality- 4 days CPD per year is allocated to each employee. Supported, managed and developed by qualified career development professionals and specialist teachers of career guidance.
