Company Overview

W Talent are working in partnership with an Industrial focused manufacturing and distribution business based in Derbyshire that are now looking for a Technical Sales Manager. This business has been on a significant growth curve over the last decade and is looking to strengthen its commercial business with this brand new role.


Position Overview

As the Technical Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities and supporting the current team on nurturing existing client relationships across an array of industries from Automotive, Aerospace, Power Generation and Future Technologies. It is imperative that you have a strong technical knowledge base, and it would be advantageous should you have a background from the casting, machining, or a materials environment to support the wider business infrastructure.

You will be accountable for developing and executing strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets and expand the customer base. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage industry insights, and drive innovation. The business is offering a chance for someone to think differently to achieve a collective goal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, prospecting, and networking efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from industrial focused companies from various sectors including Automotive, Aerospace, Power Generations and Future Technologies.
  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial contact to contract negotiation and closing new agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored products and delivery solutions that meet client requirements and exceed expectations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making and market positioning.
  • Be influential on the strategic sales focus that will support and nurture business growth and lead to new areas of revenue generation.
  • Play a key role in how the business is positioned, to offer a comprehensive bespoke solution that continues to add value and gain competitive advantage in new markets
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and business cases to prospects and clients.


Qualifications

  • A qualified technical background would be advantageous in an engineering discipline –Degree or HNC/HND level
  • Proven track record of success in business development within an industrial sector
  • Strong understanding of customer technical requirements including knowledge of quality standards would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
