The Advocate Group are delighted to be partnered with a fast growing Personal Care Product Manufacturing business that have a great portfolio of brands and some incredible innovation in the pipeline.


As the e-commerce Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive online sales growth in pure play retailers, marketplaces and direct to consumer and enhance the overall ecommerce experience for our customers. You will oversee all aspects of our ecommerce operations, including website management, digital marketing, merchandising, and customer engagement.


Duties and Key Responsibilities


1. Ecommerce Strategy Development: Develop and execute comprehensive ecommerce strategies to achieve sales targets, increase online visibility, and enhance customer engagement across pureplay, marketplaces and DTC

2. Website Management: Develop and lead the creation of our ecommerce website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimised for conversions. Coordinate with web developers and designers to implement necessary changes and enhancements.

3. Digital Marketing: Lead digital marketing initiatives (alongside Marketing team) to drive traffic to our ecommerce platform, including SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, social media marketing, and affiliate programs. Utilize Amazon Marketing Services (AMS) within agreed parameters to optimize performance.

4. Product Listings Optimization: Continuously polish and optimize product listings on ecommerce platforms to enhance visibility and drive sales. Ensure effective communication between Montagne Jeunesse and customers across all ecommerce channels.

5. Market Analysis and Monitoring: Monitor market and seasonal trends, acting upon them to deliver increased sales. Conduct audits of competitor activity and closely monitor key performance metrics, swiftly reporting issues and proposing corrective measures.

6. Stock Management and Forecasting: Monitor stock holding and report weekly on site cover, collaborating with the operations team to plan and maintain sufficient stock levels. Maximize the profit contribution of ecommerce sales through effective stock management and accurate sales forecasting.

7. Analysis and Reporting: Control and forecast online sales budget, identifying, and reporting on trends in trading performance and developing sales forecasts for peak trading periods. Measure and analyse site performance, online conversion rates, and product sales, identifying areas of underperformance and developing strategies to improve. Provide weekly sales and returns reports to the Sales Director, working with them to identify enhancements and issues.

8. Collaboration and Team Management: Collaborate with the internal team & agency partners to optimise the website customer experience and journey, including decisions on content, functionality, and layout. Coordinate product information from buying teams for product catalogues, ensuring accurate and customer-centric product descriptions and images. Manage site navigation, search, categories, filters, and product placement by setting merchandising strategy alongside the Sales Director


Experience, Skills and Knowledge


Experience:

  • Proven experience in ecommerce management, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing ecommerce strategies to drive sales growth and enhance customer engagement.
  • Experience with ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, or WooCommerce, as well as familiarity with Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central.
  • Previous experience in digital marketing, including SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Experience in stock management, forecasting, and inventory optimisation to maximize profitability.
  • Strong track record of analysing market trends, competitor activity, and key performance metrics to identify opportunities and drive business results.
  • Experience in team management and collaboration, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of ecommerce professionals effectively.

Knowledge:


  • Knowledge of ecommerce platforms and web technologies, including website management, user experience optimisation, and conversion rate optimisation.
  • Understanding of ecommerce market trends and consumer behaviour, particularly within the UK ecommerce landscape.
  • Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, and Pan-EU functionalities, as well as Amazon Marketing Services (AMS).
  • Knowledge of stock management principles, inventory forecasting techniques, and supply chain management processes.
  • Awareness of digital marketing best practices and emerging trends in SEO, PPC advertising, email marketing, and social media marketing.
  • Understanding of key performance metrics and analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to measure and track ecommerce performance effectively.
  • Knowledge of merchandising strategies, product listing optimization techniques, and competitor analysis methods to drive online sales growth.
