About the Role:

The Commercial Asset Manager will be responsible for the commercial management and optimisation of our battery storage assets. This role involves overseeing the financial performance, contractual obligations, and strategic initiatives to maximize the value of our assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset management, energy markets, and financial analysis. This role report to the Director of Technology & Operations and will work closely with the Technical Asset team and the respective; investment, finance, strategy and execution teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset Management: Oversee the day-to-day commercial operations of battery storage assets, ensuring optimal profitability.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making across revenue and OPEX.
  • Contract Management: Manage and negotiate contracts with stakeholders, including off-takers, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular commercial reports to senior management and investors.
  • Strategic Planning: To support the development of strategies to enhance asset value, including revenue optimisation and cost management initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including RTM’s, insurance, and industry partners.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset operations and market conditions.

What you need to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, particularly battery storage and renewable energy.
  • Excellent analytical skills (financial modelling a plus)
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Python, Power BI).
  • Organised, ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the enthusiasm & drive to work in a high growth environment.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, share information with relevant parties
  • Proactive and keen problem solver who can focus on appropriate detail when solving problems and propose effective solutions
