Role Overview

This role is responsible for driving the EMEA Service P&L (Profit & Loss) performance throughout the financial year (July to June). Including key tasks such as monthly forecast reviews, and monthly reporting including but not limited to service bookings, backlog and OPEX trends.


Responsibilities:

The role will report into the regional team based in Redhill Surrey, UK and provide direct support to the Service leadership team to deliver our financial goals. There will be a requirement to work different time zones / regions as well as ad-hoc travel to some sites.

  • Provide regular updates on MTD P&L performance against forecast and highly risks as they occur, with solutions.
  • Detail monthly performance against FC/Budget outlining what was delivered as planned vs not and how issue can be recovered, or strategies put in place, where necessary
  • Create and manage EMEA monthly forecast sheets with support from the wider finance group
  • Review open backlog of service jobs to ensure they are posted timely by the team and into the correct location/cost. Report on service job activity to Service management including reviewing the costs for trends and profitability by contract.
  • Review the service backlog report to ensure it is correct and aged properly. Drive individual owners to make sure they are maintaining the information in the ERP for deliverables (main categories are: Contract, Spare Parts, Installations, Time and Material)
  • Provide detailed analysis of OPEX throughout the month to help service management understand their spending, including travel, overtime, outside services and freight. Drive improvements with the regional team
  • Provide detailed analysis of outside services spend to compare profitability of service contracts, rates charged by outside firms are correct and consistent across regions, aid in analysis of when to hire in-country vs use outside labour.
  • Provide financial support to the team to help drive service deliverables, including invoicing/order entry and accruals in line with financial targets
  • Actively participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis; including process improvement activities in Finance
  • Develop and track key operating performance metrics as well as make specific recommendations as to cost control/containment and profit improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly and semi-annual call package to OSI
  • Work with regional service management to drive the annual budget (FY) & review it with global service management
  • Flexible Working, to support US and APAC

  • Good people skills and understanding of organisations, being able to clearly explain financial information and terminology to non-technical parties and to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with external parties such as auditors.
  • Able to cope with change and conflicting demands, with good personal time management and priority setting, and comfortable working to deadlines.
  • Inspires others to achieve. Learns and shares knowledge.
  • Knowledge, Training and Qualifications if required:
  • Financial Analyst in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • Previous use of Navision would be an advantage.
