Children's Social Care Manager

You are an expert in what good social work practice looks like, possessing a proven track record in guiding staff through transformations, streamlining processes, and fostering an innovative culture. Your leadership and management skills are outstanding, enabling you to motivate teams of social workers effectively. You have the ability to analyze complex information, make informed decisions, and understand trends from research to apply them to practice improvements. Moreover, your change management skills ensure successful implementation of new initiatives, and you are committed to staying up to date with best practices and new developments. Qualified as a Social Worker and registered with Social Work England, you ideally have at least five years' experience as a qualified child and family social worker. Your experience encompasses staff development via Student/ASYE Support, leading teams, conducting performance management and supervision, and implementing quality assurance and improvement plans.
What the Job InvolvesYour role will be embedded within the Social Work Development (Enrichment/Improvement/Enhancement) Hub, where you'll play a critical part under the current PMG1 Group Service Manager Temp role. You'll engage in quality assurance initiatives and implement new policies to improve outcomes for children and families. This includes tracking the impact of initiatives to ensure continuous improvement, conducting audits and reviews of policies and procedures to identify quality gaps, and implementing development initiatives for social workers based on learnings from audits. You'll stay updated with evolving regulations and outcomes of local and national safeguarding reviews, providing support to ensure staff understand and follow new policies and processes, including the use of group supervision. Collaborating with team managers, you'll prepare for inspections and develop learning from them. Your work will be against the backdrop of Ofsted Guidelines, focusing on getting basic social work practice right, guiding practitioners in achieving consistent understanding and application of thresholds, ensuring a well-supported, confident, and knowledgeable management team, and developing a workforce focused on achieving sustained improvements in the lives of children and their families.
