Position Overview:

We are seeking an accomplished VP Finance to spearhead the financial operations of the business. This role is critical in establishing a strong financial foundation as we prepare for future spin-offs. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, with a focus on building efficient, scalable systems to support growth and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a trusted advisor, providing strategic insights and ensuring the financial health of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

· Financial Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with the company's goals, including financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning.

· Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, banking relationships, and payroll.

· System Implementation: Establish robust financial systems, controls, and processes to ensure scalability and efficiency as the company grows and spins off new ventures.

· Management Reporting: Provide timely and accurate financial reports to the leadership team, offering insights to drive decision-making and support long-term business strategy.

· Cash Flow Management: Ensure effective cash flow management, including monitoring liquidity and implementing strategies to optimize working capital.

· Risk Management & Compliance: Identify potential financial risks and implement mitigation strategies to protect the company’s financial integrity.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment on financial objectives and provide financial guidance to support operational initiatives.


Qualifications & Experience:

· Finance Leadership: Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally in a biotech or startup environment.

· Strong Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial planning, analysis, and control, with the ability to provide strategic insights and drive financial performance.

· Operational Finance Experience: Hands-on experience setting up financial systems and processes, managing the full spectrum of finance operations.

· Biotech Industry Knowledge (Preferred): An understanding of the financial challenges and opportunities in the biotech sector is highly desirable.

· Startup Culture: An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where adaptability and innovation are key.

· Education: A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) is essential.

US GAAP experience highly desired


Additional Attributes:

· Hands-on Approach: Comfortable working independently in the early stages, with the opportunity to build out the finance team as the company grows.

· Jack of All Trades: Ability to wear multiple hats and take on a range of responsibilities beyond core finance duties, from strategic planning to operational support.

· Technologically Savvy: Knowledge of AI tools, financial software, and other tech solutions that can streamline operations and drive efficiencies is a plus.
