You'll be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining the portfolio of change initiatives – programmes, projects and continuous improvements.
  • Lead on portfolio analysis and Insight: Support the Head of Portfolio Office by taking responsibility for the detailed analysis (root cause, trend etc.) of the portfolio and escalate areas of concern for the attention of appropriate governance boards.
  • Analyse and interrogate the status of the overarching portfolio and contribute insights, metrics and intelligence to increase the portfolio’s profile across the organisation.
  • Work alongside Finance and Procurement business partners to track programmes and projects finances. Analyse patterns and trends between budgets and forecasts and suggest improvement opportunities. Produce portfolio finance reporting to share with Executive level stakeholders.
  • Support the coordination of the Change Board. Ensure appropriate approvals, and controls (business as usual or project management) are put in place to enable delivery confidence.
  • Conduct project and programme health checks and deep dives to assure compliance to portfolio standards, identify and disseminate lessons learned to promote best practice.
  • Collate and publish plans, roadmaps, reports and dashboards to senior managers and governance boards including the Executive Board in accordance with Corporate PMO reporting agreements. Ensure report production within agreed timescales, in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Controls: Manage portfolio risks and issues and advising or escalating areas requiring management attention.


Skills and experience:

  • Proficient use of data visualisation software, experience using Power BI to create dashboards, draw out insight from datasets and make data presentable and interpretable to stakeholders.
  • Analytical knowledge and / or proven experience of working in a project, programme, portfolio or PMO environment with a thorough understanding of programme and project management from an analytical and support perspective
  • Able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment with the flexibility to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines, effectively prioritising and executing tasks
