We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our growing team.

Role Overview

As a Finance Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the finance team with the management of financial processes and ensuring the accurate maintenance of records. Your work will contribute directly to the smooth financial operation of our business, supporting budgeting, reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, monitor outstanding payments, and assist with collections.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile company accounts on a daily/weekly basis to ensure accuracy.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, reports, and financial statements.
  • Expense Management: Track and manage employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • VAT and Tax Returns: Assist in preparing and filing VAT and other tax-related submissions.
  • System Management: Update financial data in company systems and ensure all records are accurate and organised.
  • Month end reporting: Work with the FC to close the month and produce client statements.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Provide general administrative support to the FC and management.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Educational Background: A-levels or equivalent qualifications in accounting, finance, or business; an AAT qualification (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence with accounting software (preferably Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong numerical and analytical abilities with great attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across different functions.
