About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Export Control Manager on behalf of our client in the defence sector. In this role, you will serve as the key point of contact for export control and licensing across various programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting the timely delivery of international projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary expert for export control on assigned programs, understanding key deliverables and associated licensing needs.
  • Navigate complex export control and licensing challenges, establishing facts, and devising solutions that facilitate timely delivery while safeguarding future business opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and regularly review Export Control and Licensing Management Plans.
  • Support export control governance, including risk identification and management, audits, assurance activities, and investigation and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including project teams, customers, suppliers, and national licensing authorities.
  • Assist with corporate/internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of any actions required.


Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Degree qualified.
  • Experience with UK and US (ITAR/EAR) Export Control Regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues in a fast-paced environment and influence teams to achieve common objectives.
  • High level of self-motivation, proactivity, and flexibility, with the capacity to operate independently and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


Desirable Skills:

  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
  • Experience with export control regulations, business processes, and procedures, preferably within a military aerospace or defence environment.
