Woodrow Mercer Healthcare Recruitment are currently recruiting for a GP Liaison Officer to support a private healthcare organisation based in Leeds.


The successful candidate will develop referral opportunities between consultants, GPs and other external stakeholders through various high quality communication methods, both virtually and face to face.


They will be responsible for developing an engagement strategy and delivering promotional activity. The role will be supported using analytics and data insight to ensure optimal use of time and resource for both new and existing referrers in order to develop your portfolio, and to identify opportunities for business development in line with the hospital's strategic business plan and targets.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting and working with the Management Team to promote all services, increase referrals to the services and increase revenue.
  • Promoting areas of improvement and development.
  • Offering direction and advice to the wider SLT and Executive Team.
  • Reviewing and developing Company promotional material with external contractors.
  • Having oversight.
  • In conjunction with the management team set the self-pay private patient fees.
  • Work with existing and new consultants and clinicians to develop and grow private patient services.
  • Manage company associations and recognise business opportunities when they arise.
  • Continuously working to strategically expand, preserve or improve the company’s position.
  • A sales attitude needed with clear targets and KPI's to measure success.
  • Target new GP areas to extend reach.
  • Build strong links internally to build relationships to support the growth of the business.
  • Must have extensive understanding of NHS contracts, processes and the NHS Choice agenda.
  • Needs to be able to speak with confidence in relation to ERS and all NHS initiatives.


Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Customer service and/or facilities management qualification.
  • Understanding of KPI performance.
  • Understanding of contract management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills required with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes.
  • A track record of achieving and exceeding targeted KPIs.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
  • NHS engagement experience is essential.
  • Previous experience of leading the delivery of outstanding customer service within the independent sector as GP Liaison.
  • Previous understanding of referral pathways within the NHS.
  • Experience in target-based engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience in events management.
  • Strong ability to carry out marketing-based decision making.
  • Proven experience within a high-quality customer service environment.
  • Customer service and/or facilities management qualification.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills required with emphasis on achieving results and successful outcomes.
