Clinical Specialist – Negative Pressure Wound Therapy

Scope:


Our client are a global technology company who operate in over 100 countries. They continue to dominate the market, and as a result, are seeking a motivated individual to join their team across the UK. This is a great opportunity for a tissue viability nurse in acute care setting looking to make the change to a commercial role.



Responsibilities:


  • Under the direction of the clinical manager, works in collaboration with the sales organisation, to support activities contributing to the meeting of sales and clinical education objectives.
  • The clinical specialist reports to the clinical manager and works with cross-functional teams to deliver programs, to provide customer facing clinical resources, and product based clinical education. The clinical specialist will collaborate closely with other clinical specialists to support clinical/educational strategies, and NPWT portfolio activities and opportunities.
  • The Clinical Specialist assists to identify priorities for clinical and educational services in both acute and post-acute health services. This will include clinical education in a hospital environment such as theatre and ward-based bed-side training. Accompanied clinical training may also be required in a patient’s home, community health centre and nursing home.
  • The clinical specialist will work alongside the sales team in delivering clinical education and product training during and after product trials and evaluations with new customers/new specialities.
  • The clinical specialist applies clinical experience to support relationships with key clinical decision makers to drive adoption of NPWT focus products.
  • The Clinical Specialist would have a close working relationship with surgeons, Tissue Viability Nurses in acute & post-acute areas along with other Health Care Professional’s (HCP’s) working with NPWT products.
  • The clinical specialist will apply clinical, product, and clinical evidence-based knowledge to conduct calls/meetings with HCP’s.
  • The Clinical Specialist will respond to customer questions/concerns related to NPWT products on challenging and or complex wounds.



About You:



  • Minimum three years’ experience in a nursing position, ideally as a Tissue Viability or specialist nurse or O.R. nurse.
  • Minimum 3-5 years Tissue Viability/Wound care experience in an acute care setting to include the use of NPWT
  • Experience with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Systems essential
  • Must be willing to travel and stay away from home (sometimes at short notice)
  • Working knowledge of compliance and industry regulations for clinical education
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to present clinical and technical information to non-specialists
  • Ability to forge strong internal relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Professional communicator, including meetings with management of all levels
  • Ability to build strong relationships with senior clinicians.
