The Role


Our client wants to bring a Blended Learning Designer on board to create a new natural sciences programme. During the start of the contract, there would be a larger emphasis on creating face-to-face learning, before the programme becomes more tailored to online learning. This contract will focus on the early-stage design and project management of the blended programme.


You will attend regular meetings with module leads and Academics and engage with them to extract key content for the new programmes and advise them on how it can be formatted within the Moodle VLE. The key things to emphasise at this stage include student workload, the pacing of the learning journey, and pedagogical approaches needed to project manage the early stage creation of a blended curriculum.

As well as having experience as a Blended Learning Designer these are some of the key skills to be a successful candidate for this opportunity:


  • Challenge academic colleagues in their design ideas for the benefit of an outstanding learning experience for the students
  • Strong experience with Moodle
  • Ability to work at pace liaising with a high number of key stakeholders
  • Strong blended Learning Design experience with an ability to work across multiple modules simultaneously
  • PM experience, specifically around content and curriculum development
  • Pedagogical rationale – the ability to advise on blended learning provisions
  • Natural sciences experience
