The Solution Group, on behalf of our esteemed client, is seeking a skilled CAD Design & Project Technician to join their dynamic team. As a growing company with an expanding order book, our client specialises in the Design, Manufacture, Installation and repair of structural steel work and general engineering. Located in Essex, our client is at the forefront of innovation in the construction, marine, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilise CAD software for 2D & 3D detailing of construction, marine, and industrial drawings.
- Generate preliminary concept designs and develop them into final manufacturing detail and construction drawings.
- Conduct surveys at local sites in collaboration with engineers to gather essential data.
- Prepare material take offs and material lists for pricing.
- Specify and order necessary materials.
- Create workshop manufacturing drawings and profile drawings for CNC cutting.
- Collaborate with workshop supervisors to identify and resolve issues.
- Coordinate with the operations manager to schedule and prioritise manufacturing activities.
- Liaise with clients to address production queries and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain control of manufacturing documents and records in compliance with EN1090 & ISO9001 management systems.
- Assist in the preparation for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, EN1090 & SSIP audits.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the structural steel manufacturing industry is essential.
- Proficiency in CAD software for both 2D and 3D modelling.
- Experience in construction, marine, or port industries is desirable.
- Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexibility to visit local sites and conduct surveys as required.
