Key Activities


  • Lead Electrical Engineering: Take charge of electrical design engineering, collaborating closely with mechanical design engineers to provide technical support.
  • Technical Project Support: Offer technical expertise and support for both new and ongoing projects to ensure successful execution.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with multi-discipline engineering and manufacturing teams to achieve integrated project outcomes.
  • Design and Integration Leadership: Lead the design and integration process, coordinating with OEM suppliers to ensure projects meet technical and quality standards.
  • Equipment Integration: Identify and define integration requirements for new equipment, particularly in cleanroom and laboratory environments.
  • Process Tooling and Component Design: Drive the development of process tooling and components, improving manufacturing efficiency, safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Standards Compliance: Establish procedures to ensure equipment meets performance standards and complies with ISO9001 quality management systems.
  • Project Planning and Management: Oversee the planning, design, and management of industrialisation and automation projects, ensuring they meet project goals.
  • Laboratory and Manufacturing Equipment Integration: Provide expertise in integrating new equipment within laboratory and manufacturing settings.
  • Automation Troubleshooting: Lead troubleshooting efforts for automation issues, following recognised processes to identify and resolve problems.
  • Legislation and Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to current legislation, company policies, and statutory requirements.
  • Machine Control Troubleshooting: Collaborate with Manufacturing/Operations teams to diagnose and resolve machine control failures.
  • Continuous Improvement Leadership: Lead and support improvement activities and projects across the site, driving innovation and operational excellence.



Key Experience We’re Looking For:


  • Electrical System Expertise: Ability to design, implement, install, and maintain electrical systems within a manufacturing setting.
  • Practical Electrical Design Experience: Demonstrable hands-on experience in electrical design.
  • Analytical and Fault-Finding Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-Oriented Engineering Approach: Proven flexible, detail-oriented engineering approach.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to write technical reports and documentation at multiple levels.
  • CAD Proficiency: Proficient in CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS or CREO.
  • Support in Development and Production: Capability to support manufacturing and other departments during development and production phases.


Requirements for the Role:

  • Educational Background: Hold a Degree/Masters qualification (or equivalent) in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
  • Industrialisation and Automation Experience: Experience in industrialisation and automation within a manufacturing facility.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Laboratory and Manufacturing Experience: Proven experience working in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, ideally in a cleanroom setting.
