SUMMARY

As a Project Manager for Celeros Flow Technology (Clyde Union Pumps) you will be responsible for the following three key elements of your projects:


  • Ensure that our customer receives a high level of service.
  • Ensuring that you accurately predict the Margin of the project.
  • Manage risks to ensure the On Time Delivery of the project.


The rest of this job description goes into more detail on specifics of what we would like but if you can do these three things, we would like to talk to you. Likewise, if these three deliverables aren’t your key focus when you run a project this may not be the job for you.




PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

You will run the project from receipt of Purchase Order from the client until all Milestone payments are received form the customer. During this time you will be the customers main point of contact for the majority of communication on the project. Internally you will be the figurehead of the project and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Cost & Schedule and managing risks & realizing opportunities in both these areas.

You will be required to manage the project in such a way that it fulfils contractual and technical requirements, meets or exceeds customer expectations, and adheres to safety and ethical standards while achieving target margins and promoting Celeros Flow Technology’s reputation in the market-place.

Ideally, we are looking for individuals who have prior experience successfully managing multi-million pound projects or contracts within a Heavy Engineering Manufacturing environment. The majority of our work is based on a fixed cost basis for external clients so previous experience in managing budgets and solid basis in contractual understanding would be a bonus.

Engineering experience, Experience in the Industrial or Power & Energy markets is desirable but not essential. Good knowledge of budgets, scheduling, risk management, Customer facing experience will be an advantage in this role.




EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Personal skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to allow management of multiple projects concurrently
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build relationships with both clients and internal team members.
  • Manage and prioritize the workload of a project team who do not report directly to you
  • Lead effective meetings with the project execution team & external meetings with the client.
  • Demonstrate core Project Management skills including: negotiation, influencing, persuasion, facilitation and stakeholder management.
  • Work within existing, auditable company processes, we would also welcome individuals who wish to streamline and improve our current process.


Risk & Schedule skills

  • Analyze project schedules to ensure critical path activities are primary focus, risks are mitigated and opportunities are realized.
  • Prepare project plans for current projects and future work.
  • Accurately forecast the Invoice dates of the project milestones.


IT skills

  • Good competency in the following programs; MS Project, Excel, Word & Powerpoint.
  • Working knowledge or familiarity of the SAP MRP system would be beneficial but not essential.


Financial skills

  • Review the project cost forecast compared to initial budget during monthly cost reviews to ensure accurate forecast of final margin.
  • Understand any cost deviations from initial budget and be able to explain reasons for variance.
  • Monitor the cashflow of the project to ensure it meets pre contract plan and maintains a cash positive position through the project.


Contract Management

  • Identify opportunities for variations during project execution and ensure that they are negotiated to provide the best possible result for the business.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of contractual language and terms and conditions.
  • Review project contracts, ensure deliverables meet contract requirements.
  • Produce and manage key documents (e.g. ITP, SDRL, Project Schedule and Project Workbook)


Change Order Management

  • Identify and negotiate Client Change orders and variations for your projects ensuring that they maximize the financial and schedule benefits for the business.
  • Identify and minimize contract risks throughout project execution
