We are looking in Edinburgh for a Business Development Manager to join our UK team


The person will be selling FI Group main service offering to companies undertaking innovative projects. This will require the person to identify innovative companies, and to explain to them how they may benefit from the R&D tax regime, with a view to signing an agreement with that company for FI Group to handle their R&D tax claim. The position requires high capacity to self-generate leads and participate in the growth of the company, and deal with complex sales cycles with top management.


Main responsibilities will include:


  • Managing the full 360 sales cycle – Prospecting to Proposals
  • Professionally interact with decision makers across all markets and seniority within SME’s to FTSE100
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team, providing guidance and assistance to fellow team members
  • Meetings are generated through your own lead generation; inbound marketing leads and through a dedicated London based Sales Development team


Desired experience & skills:


  • Field Sales experience is essential
  • New Business Development experience, preferably working within solution sales
  • Outstanding communication skills; confident and articulate
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Previous experience in the sector
  • Experience selling to CFOs and Finance Directors
  • Ability to self-generate leads
  • Mobility over the UK to meet the clients
  • Full driving license
  • Work hard – play hard mentality
  • Resilient
  • Basic knowledge of corporate tax mechanism
  • Willingness to learn complex legislation related to R&D tax and innovation funding programs
