Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be part of a team who engage in maintaining, repairing and upgrading production equipment and jigs used for the furnaces, vacuum systems, RF test equipment (Inc. high voltage up to 80KV), welders and laboratory equipment.

The successful applicants responsibilities would include:


  1. Always follow proper health and safety procedures.
  2. Assist the teams building and calibrating the equipment.
  3. Responsible for the education of apprentices.
  4. Determine the necessity for preventative maintenance and carry it out.
  5. Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and safety checks on a regular basis.
  6. Perform immediate response breakdown maintenance.
  7. Assist in building up spares stockpiles and locating replacement parts for machinery.
  8. Mechanical component manufacture for equipment repairs.
  9. Propose and carry out equipment upgrades.
  10. Provide equipment-related technical assistance to production engineers.
  11. Contribute to the creation of risk and COSHH evaluations.
  12. Identify equipment that needs to be replaced and include it in capital budgets.
  13. Frequently inform their manager on their progress.


As a Equipment Engineer, you would need to be engaging, dynamic, and hungry for new challenges and opportunities. You would also need to possess the following:


HNC in an engineering discipline.

Good health, safety and housekeeping practices.

Ability to work from detailed technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Electrical/electronic fault finding.

Skill, experience and qualifications that are desirable:

Fault finding of mechanical systems

Previous experience of working in a maintenance environment.

Basic pipefitting knowledge.

Pneumatic fault finding.

Single & Three phase electrical.

High voltage AC/DC and pulsed.

Understanding of RF systems.

Knowledge and/or training in PLC fault finding or programming (Mitsubishi).
