Do you have what it takes to become a big cog in the WD-40 wheel? We are seeking and energetic, resilient regional key account manager for our trade sales team in the Midlands and South of England. Someone who can drive YOY sales growth and increase distribution across our brand portfolio.

Reporting directly to the Trade Sales Manager and working closely alongside the UK sales team. This dynamic role is responsible for the implementation of WD-40 company sales and marketing plans, across wholesale and trade channels within the asigned teritory to grow brand equity.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Sell all brands across one or more channels into regional accounts to achieve defined sales and EBITDA goals
  • Determine customer’s needs and apply product knowledge to create and deliver solution and category orientated sales presentations
  • Present product knowledge, marketing programs, promotions, sales literature, technical information, company values etc. in a concise, coherent, consultative and convincing manner
  • Grow and service existing customers/distributors/resellers sales
  • Independently open new accounts
  • Create end-user product demand in-person with at-work users and through collaborative development and implementation of customer specific marketing/sales/POS/digital programmes.
  • Support below the line marketing activities such as; marketing campaigns, trade shows, sampling programs, training, display programmes, road shows, key activities, etc. Collaborate with marketing team to adapt national marketing programs for account specific needs.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely account plans, sales forecasts and reporting
  • Accountable for effective cost/margin management and maintenance of budgets
  • Accountable for semi-complex contract negotiation, development, internal collaboration and approval to include: rebates, logistics/distribution, promotions, digital optimization, tariffs, non-routine sales terms and price. Monitor the application and compliance of agreed terms to include digital terms
  • Champion logistics negotiation and coordination
  • Monitor and actively support customer/distributors' e-commerce websites in harmony with marketplace strategy. Routinely evaluate customer digital content, guide product page setup, provide content, monitor, report and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Review customer results through the analysis of various data and business intelligence in order to define adequate actions in relation with the customer and company’s strategy
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements (eg: GDPR, hazardous goods guidelines).



What You’ll Bring To The Role

  • 2-3 + years of relevant business development experience to include identification and opening of new business and maintenance and growth of existing customers to achieve goals.
  • Sales within a wholesale automotive, hardware, industrial, retail distribution and/or relevant channels, preferred. But exposure to internal sales and other sale environments will be considered.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, relationship building and negotiating skills in a direct or indirect technical sales capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field, preferred
  • Relevant vocational training, ideal
  • Valid driving license
