Job Description

The Role

This is a newly created role following Fastmarkets separation from a FTSE 250 PLC. The role will be responsible for running the core process to enable revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 as well as providing robust explanations on variances to forecast and suggesting process improvements. The role requires strong data analysis skills and excel experience.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Extracting data from source systems including Salesforce and Netsuite
  • Preparing IFRS revenue waterfall for all entities to ensure accurate month end reporting
  • Detailed order level variance analysis of actuals to expectations.
  • Variance analysis to prior periods, forecast and budget
  • Presentation of analysis to Senior Management including the CFO
  • Lead the year end audit of revenue and liaison with external auditors
  • Identify and track to resolution – System, Netsuite and Salesforce data issues
  • Continual optimisation of month end process

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.

Experience

  • Almost or newly qualified chartered accountant
  • Intermediate / Advanced excel skills (Lookups, Sumifs, Index match and if/or/and combinations).
  • Experience with large data sets and presenting on a summary basis
  • Experience of multi-entities and currency conversation (desirable)
  • Understand IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles (desirable)
  • Netsuite or SAP experience (desirable)

  • Strong stakeholder management skillset and a natural collaborator
  • Can challenge current practices and think innovatively in executing work
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple tight deadlines
  • Able to solve problems with creative and pragmatic ideas and uses sound judgements based on risk assessment
