We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Process Leader to join a highly successful aerospace company in Redditch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent standards, driving performance improvements across SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People), and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering products on time, in full, from a vertically integrated process stream. This role demands responsiveness to customer and supplier requirements, along with proactive contributions towards business progression.


Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a process stream within one of four business units, managing from raw material input through to delivery and invoicing.
  • Leading a team with a headcount ranging from 15 to 50.
  • Managing and motivating Process Team Leaders and operatives.
  • Operating budget includes payroll, consumables, tooling, sub-contracting, and overtime.
  • Responsible for business planning in areas such as Load & Capacity, SIOP (Sales Investment Operations Planning), and OPE.
  • Performance management including manpower, machine care, standard operations, production plans, logistics, and inventory.
  • Accountable for delivery metrics such as OTIF, arrears reduction, customer satisfaction, and managing costs and revenue in line with budgets.
  • Standardising processes and ensuring consistent application across the business unit.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and EHS directives.
  • Leading, setting standards, and coaching in line with the company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Full accountability for the process stream 24/7.
  • Collaborating with COAs to provide accurate feedback to customers.
  • Managing NPI (New Product Introduction) in accordance with project milestones.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • HN qualification in Mechanical/Production Engineering or Business Analysis (preferred but not essential).
  • Extensive experience in leading large-scale, complex industrial operations.
  • Proven track record of success with a strong portfolio of achievements.

Safety:

  • Ensuring compliance with EHS and legislative standards.
  • Adherence to PPE requirements and all safety policies.
  • Actively promoting safe working practices.
  • Participation in risk assessment and mitigation activities.

Quality:

  • Ensuring that the service provided meets the highest standards.
  • Completing tasks right the first time, to the required standard.

Delivery:

  • Ensuring tasks are completed on time and in accordance with the required standard.
  • Maintaining schedule adherence (MPS) and building to plan in sequence.
  • Achieving customer OTIF, launch to plan, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Cost:

  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.
  • Managing sales revenue, operating budget, and capital investment.
  • Monitoring cost of non-quality and people effectiveness (OPE).

People:

  • Maintaining professional communication with internal and external customers.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Leading succession planning, performance development reviews (PDR), and learning & development initiatives.

Business:

  • Acting as an ambassador for the company and a role model for its Vision, Mission, and Values.

General Competencies:

  • Effective problem-solving and lean tool deployment.
  • Proficiency in strategy deployment and IT skills.
  • Management of employee relations and performance to SMART objectives.
