How will you make an impact?

In this role you will be responsible for supplying an achievable production plan to satisfy customer demand and on time delivery targets, whilst optimising net production. Providing real time information to optimise decision making at all levels of the business while building positive relationships. You will have ability to respond quickly to the needs of the business and embrace change through team working, flexibility and continuous improvement.


What will this role entail?

  • Demonstrate creativity and diversity to deliver excellent customer service in line with the Company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Develop, maintain and review the Master Production Schedule to meet customers’ orders, provide short- and long-term forecasts to ensure on-time delivery and efficient resource utilisation.
  • Set the direction of the department which is aligned to the overall company strategy, as set by the directors.
  • Organise, plan, prioritise and allocate all work in your department and achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Analyse production data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of production plans and make data driven decisions.
  • Respond to challenges with a range of well researched/costed solutions.
  • Lead the Sales, Inventory, Operations and Planning (SIOP) process ensuring a collaborative approach is adopted to align production plans with sales forecasts and the overall business goals.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments in the business including Production, Supply Chain and Commercial to coordinate and communicate changes in production schedules and priorities.
  • Work closely with Production to identify continuous improvement projects, opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within the planning function
  • Working with the quality Assurance team to ensure production plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to communicate throughout all levels of the business including stakeholders when required.
  • WIP/inventory control.
  • Setting and monitoring of Planning/Production KPI’s
  • Support the Operations Manager in meeting business objectives and development of the Production Planning function.
  • Lead the control of slow moving WIP and customer arrears. Ensuring they are built into the plan to achieve the business targets.


Managerial Responsibility:

You will provide efficient, effective and ethical people management responsibilities to the Production Planning Coordinator.


What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in Production Planning and SIOP in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working with KPI’s and KPI reporting.
  • Previous experience working within an Aerospace Environment and Planning department is desirable.
  • Qualified to degree level in an associated subject or CIPM (Certified in Production and Planning or Inventory Management) is desirable.
  • Highly computer literate with strong skills in managing excel databases, spreadsheets and information management databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using planning and scheduling software/tools and ERP software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An empowered and self-motivated individual with the drive to strive for continuous development both professionally and personally.
