FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a PMO (Project Management Office) Lead in Sheffield to work for our client within the Financial Services sector.


As a PMO Lead you will be reporting to the Head of Chief Technology Office (CTO) Change Portfolio Management and operate as the dedicated PMO Engagement Lead for at least one of the CTO Areas. You will build strong relationships with your stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver accurate and timely plans. This role requires experience of programme and project management methods, strong stakeholder management as well as knowledge of infrastructure programmes and platforms.


You will be proactive, have strong negotiation skills and be able to deliver at pace.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders, Project and Program Sponsors & Transformation Leads and collaborate with them on regular basis.
  • Work as single point of contact between CTO areas and the Central PMO function.
  • Support the effective delivery of the CTO area’s portfolio outcomes, ensuring these are aligned to the organisational strategic requirements and priorities.
  • Work along with CTO area stakeholders to drive the delivery of accurate and timely plan.
  • Report on CTO area’s portfolio health back to the Head of PMO Change Management and ExCo.
  • Identify thematic risks and issues for the CTO area and report these back to Central PMO.
  • Ensure the Area’s programmes adhere to the client’s frameworks and standards.
  • Support CTO area’s annual planning activities, advise on best methods and perform health checks on resource supply and demand requirements.
  • Ensure CTO area’s programmes are well interlocked with other programmes within the client’s Technology and are well understood and managed.


Requirements

  • Very good understanding of Portfolio management frameworks, methodologies, and best practice techniques.
  • Pro-active problem-solving skills with strong experience of negotiating, documenting and presenting recommendations to deliver shared outcomes.
  • Critical thinking, able to work to under pressure to challenging timescales and deliver at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills – proven experience of exposure to senior stakeholders is critical.
  • Leadership skills and ability to engage and bring different teams together.
  • Strong understanding and experience of financial planning processes including forecasting, management of variances and common project accounting principles (e.g. cash, directs and P&L accounting).
  • Experience of programme and project management methods (e.g. MSP,PMI, Prince2).
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work under challenging timescales to deliver at pace.
  • Experience of continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure products and platforms and fintech.
