We are currently looking for a NPD Gifting Manager


We are looking for an experienced, ambitious and creatively minded NPD Gifting Manager for MM Flowers growing gift department. As our NPD Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting our customers grow their market share from concept to delivery of the gifting range.


The primary objectives of the role


  • To use various data sources available to you (trend reports, customer insight, sales data, market insight and foresight) and collaborate with innovative minds across the business to generate consumer and market leading ideas from concept design to launch.
  • Present industry trends and concepts to customers with the support of the Insight Team, demonstrating clearly the market opportunities in an engaging and compelling way.
  • To build strong relationships with our food and hardware suppliers from Far East, Europe and UK; ensuring quality, ethical sourcing and sustainability is at the forefront of the development agenda.
  • To create detailed product specifications and performing product risk assessments together with the technical team.
  • To manage the critical path and range launch deadlines on time and in budget.
  • Lead on transit trial with the support of the NPD Packaging Manager where appropriate.
  • Support the Commercial lead in establishing the MLOR and completion of chilled validations
  • Make up samples and mock-ups to send to customer where require, ensuring the highest standard of presentation and accuracy
  • To work with the NPD Packaging Manager to create new packaging solutions to delight our customers and protect product quality at all times
  • To manage the artwork creation and sign off proposal before handing to procurement.
  • Manage the coordination of customer artwork, supporting with design feasibility, content accuracy and marketing opportunities.
  • To liaise with and own the reprographics and printer relationships, ensuring products are printed to specification and within tolerance
  • To work closely with commercial, technical and packaging teams during the development process.
  • Work closely with the customer marketing teams to convey new product concepts and scope their ad hoc ideas.
  • Sign off pre- production runs, first production runs and organise post launch reviews
  • Any other relevant task to successfully deliver the projects.


What you can already do


  • Bachelor’s Degree in design or marketing, combined with previous food industry experience.
  • Understanding and ability to interpret and monetise market leading trend designs, with futurist big idea driven by insight and foresight.
  • Skilful in project management fundamentals, process adherence, due diligence, governance and control of project information.
  • Proven experience working as hardware, cosmetics or gifting designer, understanding of different materials, substrates and trends; experienced in ethical sourcing from Far East, Europe and UK.
  • Natural talent for design and market opportunities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom is desirable.
