Fastmarkets is owned by global private equity firm Astorg, a specialist investor in healthcare, software, technology, business services and technology-based industrial companies.
The Exchange Data Operations Lead will work closely with the product, operations, sales and content teams as well as directly with suppliers and customers to streamline the delivery of our exchange data products, related data sets and required reporting.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a financial information provider, with domain experience of working with exchange market data and how customers consume it.This is a new role to Fastmarkets, sitting within the newly formed product operations function, and we are looking for a self starter with operational experience in driving effective third party data management and product optimisation.
Principal Accountabilities
- Set up best practice to optimise the delivery of the third party and exchange data to our customers
- Understand current customer data needs and inform the product management team of what data onboarding is required
- Regularly monitor the data quality across all our third party sources
- Test and analyse the data we carry on a regular basis to ensure quality and consistency
- Work with technical teams to improve data quality, helping with data cleaning and validation, solving support issues for clients, and interfacing with our data providers
- Work to run a quality management dashboard to measure how accurate our services are in publishing 3rd party data – identifying key areas that need to be focused on
- Document quality expectations for 3rd party data sets and hold all groups responsible for publishing market data our products to account on quality metrics
- Own the execution of our contractual relationships with exchange partners and be accountable for ensuring our compliance with the contracts
- Ensure effective reporting is completed regarding usage of exchange data
- Help support and train the sales org in exchange data solutions and take part in customer calls as required
- Streamline communication to customers and between internal teams in relation to data changes or disruptions
- Manage customer facing exchange data product information and content in conjunction with the product management, customer success and product marketing teams
- Perform user acceptance testing of new or amended data sets to ensure quality and consistency

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, driven, and have a passion to be part of a fast-paced, successful team. Being a strong team player is also important as well as someone who is happy to work flexibly.
- Excellent spoken and written English is required
- Strong domain knowledge of exchange data and related information sets, market data feeds and systems, and real time, end of day and derived data
- Understanding of FIX, SBE and other message formats used by Exchanges
- Strong understanding of commodity markets and market participants
- A good understanding of the commercial landscape of the ownership, licensing and distribution of market data
- Ability to effectively articulate requirements to internal technical and operational teams to improve and implement data delivery and quality
- Ability to work with large data sets in appropriating tooling
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
