Onboarding and Compliance Officer

Liverpool Street

Hybrid working (After 6 month probation)

Up to £35,000


My client, a growing, international contract recruitment business is looking for an Onboarding and Compliance officer to join their team.


The ideal candidate will have experience working within a compliance function in the recruitment sector and have excellent attention to detail, focus, adaptability and ambition.



Skills needed for the role:

• Good knowledge of different types of background checks and their requirements

• Ability to retain Information

• Great attention to detail

• Capability to use initiative and look at problems, consider and offer solutions, based on logical evaluation, and their pros and cons to the business without seeking guidance and supervision

• Customer Service focus

• Ability to work within the team to achieve the department and Company goals

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe

• Strong organisation skills

• Respect and interacting well with others on a personal and professional level


Key Responsibilities:

• Raising and resolving initial queries with the sales teams regarding any missing, inaccurate or unconfirmed information.

• Communicating both internally and externally in connection with information and outstanding documentation required for contracts, compliance and payments (i.e. missing bank details, contracts, timesheets, receipts, references etc.).

• Recording and inputting details of all documentation received back from contractors (including company bank details, contractor forms etc.) onto the relevant systems.

• Data entry onto any relevant and internal spreadsheets.

• Data entry onto any client and internal systems/CRMs.

• Basic knowledge of any compliance legislation including AWR & IR35 processes.

• Checking the validity of candidates’ right to work.

• Carrying out ID checks on candidates’ right-to-work documents.

• Chasing required documents in line with the Client’s and/or business requirements.

• Performing background checks in line with the Client’s and/or business requirements.

• Responding to contractor and consultant queries on the phone, in person and by email in a polite and professional manner.

• Preparing contract documentation and terms based on templates and using the information provided by consultants and the agreed client terms “mirrors”.

• Legal & ad-hoc tasks which may become necessary to increase the teams’ efficiency or following new/amended legislation.
